“While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.”
― Angela Schwindt

I found this quote while I was getting ready to write this post for my blog.

It seems as though when I find the right quote, it helps to inspire me when I'm ready to post on my blog.

Tonight I photographed two children, a brother and a sister.  They are one and almost three, respectively.  The sister, when I asked her how old she was, held up three fingers.  When she was asked by her mother to tell me when her birthday was, I found out that it is a little later this month and she's not quite three yet.  This reminds of how exciting it used to be to turn a year older when I was a kid. Now if only we could take two steps forward and one step back with the birthdays, we as adults just might be a little more happy when that inevitable birthday rolled around.

Since I'm pretty sure by now that there is no chance of turning back the clock, I have found that watching children and seeing how they relate to each other is something that makes me happy.  I love traveling to their world with them for a little while and remembering how it was when the adult stress didn't exist......when we could just be kids and be ourselves without worrying what anyone else thought.

Remembering what it was like when we had kid fun with siblings and trying to imagine what it was like spending so much time with my brother!  How did we keep from just beating each other silly?  Not that Brayden and Kenzie are letting on that their relationship is like that.  They were fun to take photos of and made my job very easy tonight.  They interacted with each other wonderfully.

With some good help from their mom and dad with getting some good genuine smiles going, I was able to capture some very cute moments between siblings and with each of them individually.

This pretty girl was a natural in front of the camera and huge help in getting her little brother to ham it up in front of the camera.

Thank you, Benson Family!  Can't wait to dive into editing the rest of our session tonight and showing off your childrens' beautiful expressions! :)
